Reuters sent out some 1.6 million pictures to the world in 2024, covering news and daily life, tragedies, chaos and customs, from 120 countries. Roughly half the world’s population went out to vote in elections. Catastrophic floods hit Brazil, Kenya, North Carolina and Nepal. Prices rose, protests broke out, and grinding wars in Ukraine and the Middle East escalated. There was violence in Haiti, wildfires in Greece, and another disputed election in Venezuela. People sought relief in quiet prayer
