Nicholas Brendon, best known for playing lovable Xander Harris on all seven seasons of the WB TV series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," died Friday, March 20. He was 54.

Nicholas Brendon faced multiple health issues before his death. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, who died this week at 54, had been diagnosed with cauda equina syndrome as well as a congenital heart defect.

Brendon died of "natural cases", his family said in a statement, remembering him as "passionate" and "sensitive".

The actor's family shared the news of his death, writing, "Nicky loved to share his enthusiastic talent with his family, friends and fans."
